I am glad you posted the sigh again as I had not seen it either. The flowers in the previous post are beautiful. This post makes me wonder just how many Americans know how to fold the flag? Peace

Great post Michael. The folded flag reminded me we had an officer shot here by an illegal alien. The officer survived and is recovering. The eighteen year old had been living here and had already been in the juvenine detention center. He is the leader of a local street gang. The officer pulled him over and the kid jumped out with a small carbine and opened up before the officer could get out of his car. He ran to Mexico, but was caught and brought back. Great SWF shot too. Keep your head down. Pappy

I love to see the American flag waving with the beautiful blue sky as the background. We fly our flag at all times. There is a light that shines on it at night.

It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures.
We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!

Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world …
No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.

And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky!
Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky at lenses & visions

Happy 4th of July.

Most appropriate photos for this Independence Day, 2008. Thanks for photographing the folding of our flag. It brings back some sad memories of military funerals I've attended, but I am always moved by demonstrations of proper respect for the flag of our nation. Thanks, again.

Wow. A very impressive set of photos. I like seeing the flags.

I think this is going to be the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.

I really admire your photography skills and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

Happy Fourth of July, America! :-)

Michael, thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog post (you got to my blog a moment or two before I published my Sky Watch contribution).

The rose image is mine, as are all the pictures on my blog, yet I do not own the rose. It blooms in the City of Vienna's wonderful Rose Garden, in the Volksgarten (People's Garden). If you click on
this link, and scroll down, you will see more rose pictures, and blog posts which show more of the Rose Garden, even from up high.

I love the theme of your blog, - I grew up on a river and love nature , especially wetlands -, and have bookmarked it, to be able to return.

May your Fourth of July be a happy one, all the best to you!
