I am in the process of shifting the focus of this blog to the wildlife of Mississippi. This will now be mostly a Wildlife/ Nature Photo and Story blog. As the past viewers will notice, I changed the name but not the address of the blog. It is still for the people in my eyes. I intend to write about the responsible viewing of wildlife and nature. I will mostly stick to wildlife that is native to Mississippi. Hope you enjoy!

Great Blue Heron! They are very graceful, which makes their awkward squawk to incongruous.
I leave for heron land tomorrow!
Hot over in Mississippi? Just a rhetorical question Michael - no need to answer. Birds are smart though - hanging around the water. Pappy
It's not all luck, Michael - you have to be there with your camera ready, watching. You're becoming quite the photographer!
Michael: Not luck, it was an opportunity taken. Very nicely done.
keep them coming Mississippi...your doing good
Ohhh, I am so jealous of you being out and about taking pictures!! :)
This one is stunning!!
If I'm up to it, my hubby is going to take me over to Starved Rock here in Illinois. I've never been and it's supposed to be beautiful. I hope we go, as I'm craving to get out and take some new pictures.
Great capture!
Love its shadow on the ground.
Well done.
Beautiful shots. I hope you child will be better soon. I remember when my daughter had her wisdom teeth out. I think that hurt me worse than when mine came out.
Love the bird pictures.
Stay cool.
Good picture =) I wish I could see more of birds that size in my area. Sadly I live in the city....hahahah.
You are LUCKY! I know how difficult it is to capture the birds in lens. Good shots both.
Very regal looking bird-nice photo!
Love the heron..I read that they only weigh about 8 pounds..tall and light..
